Homemade Apple Cider
10 Apples Sliced (Granny Smith, Red Delicious work best.
1 Orange Sliced
2 t Cloves
4 Cinnamon sticks
2 t Vanilla extract
3 T Honey
3/4 Cup Brown sugar
4 Cups Water
Combine all ingredients in a stock pot or slow cooker. Cook on low until apples are so soft they break. Strain through a fine strainer or cheese cloth 4 times. Add more cinnamon and honey to taste. Serve hot or cold.......for an added adult treat an apple whiskey would be a great complement!
Honey Cornbread (no sugar)
1 Egg
3.5 t Baking Powder
1 cup Cornmeal
1 cup Flour
1 t Salt
2/3 cup Honey
2 T Agave
1/3 cup Vegetable oil
1 cup Milk (any type, i.e.. soy,almond)
Combine dry ingredients, then incorporate wet. Do not over mix. Bake for 25 minutes on 375 degrees. Top with honey or honey butter (combination of melted butter and honey). Or use as base for your famous dressing. This recipe is so simple you can add corn, peppers or cheese to add an additional bit of originality.
